  • Brand New Photos Prove Selena Gomez Definitely Isn’t A Little Girl Anymore.

Growing up in the Hollywood spotlight can't be easy. During your most formative years, you've got cameras in your face, gossip columns critiquing your every move, and social media trolls dissecting your appearance (despite the fact that you haven't even reached age 18). No, it's definitely not easy to be a child star — especially if you want to transition into an adult powerhouse — but Selena Gomez seems to be one of the rare cases who has taken on the challenge and succeeded.

She got started when she was a very little girl, made her way up the Disney ranks, and blossomed into an interesting Hollywood character and talented singer as an adult. Her journey wasn't without its challenges, but it's safe to say that Gomez has officially secured herself a spot at the table of Hollywood millennials. Looking at the photos below, you won't believe how much she's changed over the years.

    Do you recognize this celebrity?

We’ll give you a hint: She started off as a Disney star, and has now transitioned into a successful music career. She’s also BFF with Taylor Swift.

  • Her Boyfriend Called Her Ugly… But She Ended Up With The Last Word.

Being a teenage girl has never been easy — no matter what generation you came up in, young women face a similar set of pressures, judgments, and issues that could take years to work out. That being said, it feels like the current generation of teenage girls has it especially tough: Their entire lives are documented on social media, which means that they're constantly forced to compare themselves to others. Questions of positive self-image and worth inevitably arise, and those can be extraordinarily difficult to work through.

This young woman had an especially hard time, because she also had a particularly toxic boyfriend. After a long period of time listening to his judgments and criticisms, he left her anyways — causing her to reevaluate herself and the reasons he was so cruel to her. What she came up with is a powerful lesson in confidence and putting yourself first, and luckily, she shared her message with the world for other teenage girls to consider.

    This is Brittany Shane.

She spent a period of time with a verbally abusive boyfriend, one that constantly mocked her and questioned her choices. Eventually, he left her for a “prettier” girl.

    This is Brittany Shane.

    Brittaney Lynn Shane

That's when this Alabama teen penned a powerful letter to him and posted it on social media.

“You always told me I didn’t look good with long hair and that you preferred girls with short hair. So I kept my hair cut above my shoulders at all times. You laughed at me and told me I looked ridiculous when I dyed my hair red when we were together. So a week later I dyed it back blonde.”

That's when this Alabama teen penned a powerful letter to him and posted it on social media.

    Brittaney Lynn Shane

And it wasn't just her hair that he criticized — it was basically everything else, too.

“You would always point out if I was wearing too much makeup, so I just stopped wearing it. You told me tattoos and piercings were tacky and ugly. And would try to take out my belly button ring every time you saw it. So I took out my piercings and didn’t get any more tattoos.”

And it wasn't just her hair that he criticized -- it was basically everything else, too.

    Brittaney Lynn Shane

Her words have really struck a nerve with a lot of people who have been through the same thing.

“You pointed out my stretch marks every chance you got. So I did my best to keep them hidden. You pointed out every time I looked like I had gained weight. So I started eating less every day. You pointed out every single flaw I had. So I lost every bit of confidence I had.”

She continued, explaining why in the end, one of it was worth it.

“I did everything I could to be what you wanted. I did everything you told me to do. It still wasn’t good enough. You left me for a younger prettier girl. Someone you could mold and shape into what you wanted. Like you tried to do with me. And up until a few months ago I blamed myself for everything that happened. You blamed me too.”

Her words have really struck a nerve with a lot of people who have been through the same thing.

    Brittaney Lynn Shane

Despite all of it, she's remained strong and realized some valuable lessons about life and the people who claim to have your back.

“You weren’t out of my league. I was out of yours. I wasn’t the one who wasn’t good enough for you. You were the one who wasn’t good enough for me. You couldn’t accept me for who I was. When I took you the way you were. So now here I am a few months later. My hair is past my shoulders. My hair is bright red. I’ve got a new tattoo. New piercings. Started wearing makeup again. I eat whatever I want whenever I want and weigh 135 pounds.”

Despite all of it, she's remained strong and realized some valuable lessons about life and the people who claim to have your back.

    Brittaney Lynn Shane

But for Shane, the exterior changes aren't what matters — it's the difference in the way she feels inside.

“I still have my stretch marks. And I’ve finally gotten my confidence back. I finally see myself looking back at me when I look in the mirror. It’s so hard for me to come out about this and admit that I became so vulnerable because of one guy. Something I always said would never happen. It’s humiliating to even think about how low I got. But what gives me the guts to come out about this is the fact that I overcame it and I’m finally back to who I really am.”

But for Shane, the exterior changes aren't what matters -- it's the difference in the way she feels inside.

  • Say Hello To Usain Bolt’s Stunning Girlfriend, No Wonder His Mom Said THAT.

For a guy like Usain Bolt, finding and meeting new challenges probably feels like old news. After all, he's the most decorated sprinter in the world, an anomaly of a human being with legs that seem to defy physics and athleticism that most people could never hope to achieve. Bolt regularly set and achieved his goals — hell, he basically killed them all without batting an eye — leaving us with just one question: When you're already at the top, where do you go from there?

It turns out that Bolt's next challenge in life might have less to do with his sport, and more to do with his personal life. Below, we meet his girlfriend, a fellow Jamaican who's achieved her own level of success, as well as hear what Bolt's mom has to say about what his next life move should be. And, considering the fact that she's a mom to a grown son, you probably won't be surprised to learn that it's all about one thing: Grandchildren.

Thanks to the Rio Olympics, the world is having a bit of a love affair with runner Usain Bolt.

He’s literally the fastest man alive, a world record-holder, and an Olympic gold medallist. He’s charming in interviews, a good-natured competitor.

In fact, he's won a total of nine gold medals. That's right: NINE.

At just 29-years-old, Bolt’s last three medals were the ones he got at the Rio Summer Olympics. He’s retiring now, so that’s where his number will stay.

In fact, he's won a total of nine gold medals. That's right: NINE.

    Time

    This is his signature move.

“This is what I came here for. That’s what I’m doing. This is why I said this is my last Olympics — I can’t prove anything else. What else can I do to prove to the world I am the greatest? I am trying to be one of the greatest. Be among [Muhammad] Ali and Pelé. I hope to be in that bracket after these Games.”

    This is his signature move.

And while the world is having figurative love affair with bolt, Kasi Bennett is having an actual love affair with the guy.

  • This Guy Saved A Tiny Animal, But Had No Idea What It Actually Was.

    cdn.lifebuzz.com_images_157238_lifebuzz-380569e55ae801671c1bc4182a8ba92a-limit_2000

We are often told not to meddle with wildlife, coming into contact with humans can often turn fatal for an animal. Their mother or group can reject them once they have been touched by people. For this reason, it’s very easy to walk past a small critter and simply ignore it.

There are circumstances, however, when a person just knows that if they keep walking, the small, vulnerable animal may not have much of a chance for survival. Jeff Longo had that predicament when he went for a stroll one day.

He had no idea what type of animal the small and grey creature was. Jeff just knew he couldn’t walk away. With a lot of patience and TLC, the small critter opened its eyes and was a strong healthy fur ball within three months of its rescue. Who knew a bearded guy could become a surrogate mom.

Jeff Longo knew he couldn't leave the tiny creature on its own.

The newborn was by itself on the side of the road on a extremely hot day in St. Petersburg, Florida. It seemed the tiny animal got separated from her family.

Jeff Longo knew he couldn't leave the tiny creature on its own.

Longo took to Reddit to ask for advice how to nurse the tiny animal back to health.

Jeff was mostly told to forget about it as he had no previous experience rehabilitating an animal, let alone one so tiny.

Jeff was told the critter would die after he posted some photos online.

Instead, Jeff researched for ways to help his new friend get healthy and strong.

They live in trees in the wild. In the home though, Lady Biscuit has turned Jeff into her own personal tree.

"She runs around me like I'm a big tree…then jumps on things and then jumps back, gets excited, starts chirping, rinse, and repeat," explains Jeff.

That’s not to say Lady Biscuit does not find herself in dangerous situations. During one of her escapades in the home, the flying squirrel found herself stuck in the bathtub.

Lady Biscuit likes to jump from the couch to the table in the living room.

Jeff plans to upgrade Lady Biscuit’s cage so she can be more active and do all the things flying squirrels do, except in the comfort of her human home. “I’m stuck with the little fluffball,” says Jeff.

  • Taraji Henson’s Painful Road To Hollywood Fame Proves Everything Is Possible.

Most people would recognize Taraji P. Henson in a crowd by now. She's a successful film and television actress with roles in Baby Boy, Hustle & Flow, Empire, and more. She's also incredibly charismatic — every time she shows up at an award show, she somehow manages to go viral with her speeches or adorable reactions.

But what many people don't know is that Henson has a dark past, one speckled with pain, heartache, and violence and moments that would change the course of her life forever. Now, Henson is sharing some of those dark memories, along with why they were so important for her and her son, Marcell, to get through.

It's hard to believe that someone at her level of success has ever been in such a dark place, but it's also a testiment to her character that she's made it this far in spite of it all. See Henson's story below.

Taraji P. Henson is a talented actress, best known for her role on FOX's "Empire."

Recently, Henson opened up about her past — it’s a heartbreaking story, and what’s more surprising is that most have no idea what she’s been through before becoming famous.

Taraji P. Henson is a talented actress, best known for her role on FOX's "Empire."

Taraji’s former boyfriend, William LaMarr Johnson — the father of her 20-year-old son, Marcell — was brutally beaten and knifed to death 12 years ago.

She met Johnson while she was attending Howard University in Washington D.C., and she became pregnant during her junior year.

Even at the time, Henson realized that Johnson might get caught up in some trouble.

“I had my one bad boy,” she remembers.

Even at the time, Henson realized that Johnson might get caught up in some trouble.

What happened to Johnson is eerily reminiscent of some of the plot lines in Henson's show, "Empire."

In 2003, Johnson confronted neighbors in the D.C. apartment and accused them of slashing his friend’s tires. A fight broke out, and the neighbors beat Johnson to the ground before stabbing him multiple times.

What happened to Johnson is eerily reminiscent of some of the plot lines in Henson's show, "Empire."

    Taraji P. Henson/Instagram

Johnson left behind Henson and their son, Marcell.

“His dad was murdered when Marcell was 9,” Henson says of her son. “He’s had to deal with life in a way that a lot of young kids haven’t yet.”

Johnson left behind Henson and their son, Marcell.

The neighbors were both convicted and sentenced to prison.

While that provided some sense of justice for Henson and her son, the convictions were only a small part of their uphill battle to find peace.

For a long time, Henson struggled as a single mom to Marcell.

She was living on welfare at the time, and continued to pursue her acting career. It was difficult, but she persevered.

For a long time, Henson struggled as a single mom to Marcell.

Marcell was just nine years old at the time.

“We would sit and weep about it,” Henson said. “Do I mourn for him? Absolutely. I wish my son had his dad.”

Marcell was just nine years old at the time.

But there's a part of Henson that believes everything happens for a reason.

“But sometimes things line up and they have to happen and we don’t know why,” she said.

But there's a part of Henson that believes everything happens for a reason.

And in a lot of ways, it feels like her real-life experiences inform her work.

Her character on “Empire,” as well as “Hustle & Flow” had to deal with real-life pain and violence — something tells us that in order to act those parts, Henson is drawing on something real.

And in a lot of ways, it feels like her real-life experiences inform her work.

And because of their tragedy, Henson and her son have an extraordinarily strong bond.

As far as Henson, she's definitely overcome the odds.

Things aren’t easy for black actresses in Hollywood, but it’s safe to say that Henson’s career is on fire.

    Taraji P. Henson/Instagram

While her son works hard at college, Henson is working her career.

Her role as Cookie Lyons on “Empire” is definitely one of the most entertaining things to watch on TV — and she’s not slowing down.

Henson realizes just how far she's come.

“This journey is not over,” she said in an interview about her career. “I’ve come a long way from ‘Aye, that’s that girl from Baby Boy’ to now people know how to pronounce my name.”

Henson realizes just how far she's come.

And, with her usual hilarious candor, Henson also explained her approach to life from here on out.

“I’m just scratching the surface. For whatever reason, God gave me this life, and I’m not gon’ f–k it up.”

  • After A Kiss Killed Their 10 Year-Old, They Are Warning Parents Everywhere…

When our children get sick, we would do anything in our power to help them feel better. Unfortunately, many of us aren't medical professionals, so we must entrust the care of our children to doctors, nurses, and other experts. Sadly, those folks are human too, and sometimes, they make mistakes. This is the story of what happened when no one — not mom, not dad, and not the doctors — knew what was going on inside of this little girl, and to no fault of anyone's she lost her life.

The little girl's name is Briony, and she passed away last year. The details of her death are shocking, but the purpose of this story isn't to bring up her family's pain — it's to educate other parents so that one day, they could potentially avoid the same outcome. Read this heartbreaking tale below, and find out what surprising ailment was the cause of this young girl's tragic death.

It's hard to find purpose in this mother's tragedy, but her story definitely has a teachable lesson.

While it certainly won’t lessen her heartache, it could prevent other parents from going through the same thing.

It's hard to find purpose in this mother's tragedy, but her story definitely has a teachable lesson.

It all started when her daughter, Briony Caitlin Kingberg was 10 years old.

They lived in Adelaide, Australia, until one day, Briony began to feel feverish. Eventually, she stopped eating and drinking, and mom Bridget knew she had to take action.

It all started when her daughter, Briony Caitlin Kingberg was 10 years old.

They took her to the doctor, and they discovered something like this.

Briony had dozens of little white ulcers in the back of her throat, and the doctors thought they were cold sores. She was given antibiotics for a throat infection and sent home.

They took her to the doctor, and they discovered something like this.

She was told to come back in a week for a follow-up appointment.

Sadly, Briony didn’t last that long. Shortly thereafter her diagnosis, she passed away at the tragically young age of 10.

It turns out that Briony had something far more serious.

She suffered massive organ failure and died as a result of her untreated case of herpes simplex virus.

Sadly, she was only diagnosed properly after she was already gone.

The doctor who treated Briony said he had only ever seen the virus present on the tongue, gums, and inside the lips — never on the back of the throat like she had.

When you hear that someone's Constitutional First Amendment rights have been violated, it's natural to get up defensive — after all, who are we as a country if we can't even be guaranteed protection from persecution of our thoughts and opinions? However, rarely do we hear stories like this: The First Amendment rights in question are that of a seven-year-old boy, targeted by his school for the notes he brought in with his lunchbox.

In a story that's both bizarre and frustrating, we learn about what happened when one mom sent her kid to public school with Bible verses in his lunchbox. Despite the fact that public schools are required to leave religion out of the lesson plans, some feel he's entitled to talk about his beliefs. Apparently, the school disagrees, and what they did to let him know is pretty shocking. See more about this story — and form your own opinions — below.

Back in June, a California elementary school was accused of violating the First Amendment rights of a 7-year-old boy.

The details of this story are truly bizarre and slightly disturbing. It all started when mom Christine Zavala sent notes to her son, included with his lunch bag at school.

Apparently, the notes contained Bible verses.

The boy would regularly read those verses aloud to his friends. The other kids loved them so much that they actually started asking for their own verses.

That's when the trouble really started.

Zavala started providing additional verses for her son’s friends, along with Biblical stories to illustrate the messages. One little girl in the class showed her teacher, who immediately felt it was a breach of the church and state separation that’s supposed to be present in public schools.

The teacher gave Zavala's son some strict rules about when and where he could read and distribute the Bible verses.

The notes were banned from the lunchroom, and he was told that he could only read or hand out the verses at the school gate, after the closing bell had rung.

But that didn't stop Zavala or her son. They complied, of course, but the kids were still interested in the verses.

According to reports, at least 15 students per day showed up at the gates to get the Bible verses, still curious about what they had to say.

The popularity of the activity concerned the school even more.

Principal Melanie Pagliaro demanded that the boy and the other students only discuss verses off of school property completely. The family complied without a fight.

    Then, the unthinkable happened.

A police officer actually showed up at the Zavala’s house, to tell the boy to stop sharing the notes, because “someone might be offended.” The family then sought legal help, now certain that his First Amendment rights were being violated.

An attorney for the family expressed his horror at the entire situation in a statement.

“I would expect something like this to happen in Communist Romania, where I went to elementary school,” he said. “But cops don’t bully 7-year-olds who want to talk about Jesus in the Land of the Free.”

What do you think: Were this little boy's right violated, or is it better to leave the Bible-talk out of the school environment completely?

If you remember life as a kid, you'll remember that naps were necessary sporadically throughout the day. Living a kid's life is exhausting as all you do is exert energy. Because of this, kids can literally sleep anywhere. When we say anywhere, we mean ANYWHERE.

To us, the only conventional place to take a nap is a bed or at least somewhere we can comfortably pose our body. Kids, however, aren't as picky with their beds. They can fall asleep in a shopping cart, on top of a dog, or even in a laundry basket and still be comfortable. It's magnificent really how easily they can fall asleep wherever and whenever they please.

Whether you're a parent or not, these photos are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
